This Ushanka hat
was hand-knit using 100% Siberian angora (pre-war). This yarn is spun from the
"brushings" of French angora rabbits pictured below.
[These hats
are not made from rabbit pelts; the rabbits aren't harmed.]
This design includes a
traditional top-flap over the forehead, yet this flap only for style
and is sewn into place. The side flaps completely cover the ears
when the cross-straps are lowered for those bone-chilling days.
